Ugly Day

Ok maybe I just need to eat some more food? I'm convinced that the goodness or badness of my morning run is determined by what I eat for dinner the previous night. Example, last night I had chicken picata (chicken tenders with lemon juice and capers), couscous (cooked with Oldman's homemade chicken broth) and steamed broccoli, not enough carbs. When I finished dinner I was hungry. For my snack I had a sugar free fudge pop and I went to bed early and hungry.

So this morning called for a 7 mile tennis ball run that was less than expected... 3 miles less. I even left the tennis ball in the garage only to find one on the side of the road. (Someone trying to tell me something?). My legs were DEAD, DEAD, DEAD, and I had no energy. So I cut the run short.

So here at work I had my multi-grain toast with PBJ and a banana...I feel better now!

I'm going to try to swim at lunch and then maybe tonight I'll hit the weights before dinner, tonight is vegetarian (I'm Buddhist on Tuesdays and Thursdays that way I will not eat Aunt Pearl who came back as a .... cow).

It must be something in the air - lots of other bloggers have crappy run write-ups today including myself.
I think Minnie Pearl came back as that colorful cow.

It's totally something in the air - there's a weird blogger fog and people are cranky - I'm just coming off a "mood" myself ;) Workouts of course suffer...hang in there, it'll pass!

It's the change in temps fall weather. The mornings are now in the mid 70's with a slight easterly breeze. The high today is only suppose to be 89*.

It really has to do with having good and bad runs based upon the amount of physical stress you place on the body. I don't take a full day off from exercise so therefore I have some bad days. But it's ok because I know I'll have some good days ahead.

The Bible says over and over again AND IT CAME TO PASS... so this to shall pass.

I'm sorry you had a bad run, but I really enjoyed your post—it's so very true. I have one of Jeff’s quotes on the door the kitchen which reminds me, “it’s time to get serious about what you fuel your body with.” ---high quality food equals high quality energy!

Have you heard of the book The Maker's Diet by Jordan Rubin? I have heard some controversial things about it, but I really want to read it.

Yes I've heard of The Maker's Diet...it's a diet based upon Old Testament law..ie no pork, cloven hoffed animals, etc. Since I believe I'm under the New Testment I eat like it, including pork.

Fad diets are just that a fad. A balanced diet with a balance of protein, fresh fruit, veggies, grains, nuts and dairy is what really works. I tend to watch what I eat, how it is prepared and when I eat.

I also belief that previous nights dinner reflect on that mornings training.

Up the fluids, they have carbs..well sugars.

In the past two weeks I think I've figured out just about all the worst possible pre run foods. Now it's back to bagel with pb and a banana.
have a great weekend!
