Moving - House For Sale

Ok it is finally settled. After two and a half months of negation, my saying no three times and now a second visit there, I have accepted a new position in Filthydelphia. Yes I'm crazy to leave sunny Florida weather where I can train outside year round. I will not be able to have lunch time swims in the Gulf of Mexico nor will I have my weekly Saturday swims at the beach followed by a beer at Doc's Beach House. But I will have new friends to train with along the Schuylkill Bike Path. The job is a great opportunity for me and they offered me Partnership immediately along with a wonderful 2 year contract. I'll be doing much of what I currently do just getting paid a lot more money.

These past weakend has been showing my house to potential buyers. I've have 12 people come thru after sending out a broadcast email to my community telling them that my house was for sale. Yes, I'm selling it without a realtor. I currently have 2 people interested and should know by the end of the weak.

I was able to get my long run in on Saturday and Tony and I did around the Island on Sunday for 54 miles. So here's the weakly totals:

Bike -129 miles
Run - 29 miles
Swim - 6,000 yards

Yep, that sounds pretty wacky to me, but I'm glad you're going to be up my way, sort of!!

Here's my list of my events for the rest of the year, including links to a lot of tentative events and rides, most of which I probably won't do:

good job on the partnership. too bad about having to switch all the doctor stuff over when you move and at least you get a some good training before winter hits this year.

Wow, what a huge change. I hope it works out for you! You can always go back (I have discovered!!)

You always sounded so happy about where you lived. Why on earth would you move for a few more dollars?? I can hardly wait for your weather reports next winter. At least you'll be able to justify getting some winter gear.

Oldman, the boldmeister and i'm sure the majority of us TRIbloggers do NOT share the sentiment of 'anonymous'.

Hopefully, s/he was just joking.

You've made a hard decision for what is best for you, your health, and your loved ones -- over the long term.

We all think it is the right one, and empathize with you on having to give up your warm clime, and good life, to start a new one in Philly to secure your future.

We'll still be here with you through the challenges, and of course to celebrate your success!

Take care, Greg aka Bolder.

Congrats on the job old one. Welcome to the world of cold weather training. And yes, you're crazy for leaving the sun. Better buy a trainer and get well aquainted.

Congratulations on the partnership. It should be an exciting move. It looks like your first order of business was to scope out a place to bike. Ha.

Congrats, Oldman!
But wow, that will be some culture-shock and weather-shock of a move.

And yes, you do need to buy an indoor trainer now! And long-sleeved jerseys, and full gloves, and thermal booties for riding, and ear warmers and and and

As a Floridian I can only say, "Thanks for leaving." There're too many people here as it is.
No; seriously. Good for you to take advantage of the career opportunity. You'll adjust to Philly well enough soon enough. If you don't like it, in two years you can move back to Florida.

Congrats on your new position and for making what I bet was a tough decision. If the money is that good, you can always spend the winters somewhere else! Right?
And, hey, there are alot of really good athletes in the midwest/northeast. You will find plenty of friends and competition!
Best of luck, and keep us posted through your blogs! OK?

Wow!! Big events a-foot!! That's a lot to give up so it must be a pretty good opportunity. Good for you for taking the plunge. It's not so bad up here in the north... You'll find a niche you like... Good lucking with the house sale...

Holy smoke, look at all those comments! (Are you sure you don't want word-verification? Did you go to the free-porn site?) :-D

Congrats on the new job.

Way to go on keeping up your training so well during the Philly visit and all the turmoil. Shows me it can be done -- we spend our life moving :-)

I hate word verification but it looks like I need to turn it on! Hey I've been gone for just a few days and wow!

Dude!
Congrats man... that's a big move!
You'll love it.
You'll be much more hard corps if you cycle in the winter there...
So how's the cycling?

Blog-hopping is a habit I am trying to break since my own real estate work requires a lot of attention to detail. Then I run into a blog like yours and Im reminded about how the internet expands our views positively. Thanks for the read. Visit my site if you have a chance.

Help for sellers. I stumbled across this by accident when I was looking for some ideas to "stage" my home. It's been on the market for two months and no offers yet. My agent says I am right in line with the price I am listed at and I shouldn't reduce the price but I should increase the commission rate. I don't know who to believe anymore. I found the section on "7 deadly sins that sellers make" on the web and I've had my eyes opened. My agent is far from pleased but I am now thinking she really is only interested in getting her commission without really earning it. I am cancelling the listing when it comes up for renewal next month and I think I'll just try to do it myself and save myself a bunch of money. Anyway, if you're selling or thinking about it, here's where I found it 7 deadly sins that sellers make One good thing about it is theres none of that stuff like agent referrals on the site and they dont make you log in or anything. They also have a lot of tips for buyers and FSBO and all sorts of things. Hope this helps some of you.
