Lunch and LBS

Ok I had a lunch meeting with our Firm's accountant regarding our taxes. Yes it is that time of year again. So after my lunch meeting at Aqua Grill, I stopped by my LBS, Clint's Bicycle Shoppe. After Flatman's wife purchased him a new bike, I thot maybe I'd find some one to buy me a new bike. So here's is the bike I looked at:

Trek Madone SSLx. A Boron frame weights 14 lbs and comes in my size! What do you think?

So I bought a pair of wool gloves to go under my bike gloves to keep my fingers nice and toastie. The bike was $12,500, a little more than I want to spend on a bike.

I can't believe that you aren't eyeballing that new Trek TTX that is out! Tim DeBoom rode one at Kona this year...

It sure is purty....

I don't think the two vehicles I own are worth that much, but it is a nice bike and if you have the money why not spend it on something you really want?

Ouch. Now that's some sticker shock.

Careful about that TTX bike. There are two versions of it. The one that Lance used at the TDF and a new triathlon TTX model with more tri-like geometry. I think the original TTX is available now. The triathlon TTX bike isn't due to be out until sometime in the early summer though.

$12,500, huh? Well, that's why you need to pull a Flatman and get someone else to do the buying! :-D

Good to stick with the gloves to let the purchase "marinate." :)

WHAAAT! My heart skipped a beat and went up in my throat when you listed the price. Are you sure you have the right number of zeros listed???
You must be getting more back in taxes than I am!
(And I thought that the Orbea or Litespeed frame/fork at 3 or 4 grand was a lot!) Whew!
Must be gold plated or something....
